Cheers to one year!

One year ago today we got married! I remember it oh so well…one gorgeous, sweaty day of celebrating and dancing in the rain. It has been an awesome year. Full of highs and lows. Lots of changes. All of which have made us stronger and closer. We’ve been with each other for almost eight years…I can’t imagine what the years ahead of us will bring, but I know they will be grand.

I love you T. I love our boys. Happy Anniversary to us!
xoxo Laura

100 Layer Cake

How exciting! Our photographer, Mike submitted our wedding to 100 Layer Cake…and they made a lovely post today.

ello to all of my lovely followers, new ones too (thank you by the way). I just wanted to apologize for my absence this past month. So bear with me, I have a bit of catching up to do. This was quite possibly the busiest month ever…full of good times and big changes!

Since the end of July, I have been pursuing freelance design full time, so I guess you could call me a work from home mom?! Excited as ever, but crossing my fingers everything will work out. So far so good. Any advice is much appreciated.

I am now a married momma! My husband, Thomas and I have been together almost seven years and we finally tied the knot a few weeks ago. Our wedding was amazing! One of those weddings that you never knew what was going to happen next. That’s us. You can see photos from the day here and here.

While we were away on our honeymoon, Jaxon was having a blast with MawMaw and PopPop. Now 19 months old and repeating everything we say and do. He is our little pride and joy…we even came home a day early to see him. I definitely think he grew about 4 inches and somehow has a full head of hair! Recently Daddy taught Jaxon how to give ‘knuckles’…too cute to handle! I’ve been teaching the manners…’pease’ and ‘tank ew’. In short, his vocabulary has quadrupled and he would probably live outside if you let him.

This week was a big week for us. Jaxon’s first week staying home with me, well, since I was on maternity leave. Wow, that seems like so long ago. I am sure he will miss being at the sitters, but he will go there from time to time to play with his buddies. It’s going to be fun, going to take some organizing, a good routine and hopefully we will be set! (ps. any advice here would be great too!)

Oh and it is not over yet…it is my birthday tomorrow!

Hopefully this will make your day…I know it made mine! top Our little peanut, Jaxon walking up the aisle at our wedding with my niece, London and my nephew, Weston. bottom Our first dance. (I’m pretty sure this will be larger than life print in our home…ha!)

Part two of our wedding photos were posted today…see them here. Thank you to our good friend Mike for such an amazing job photographing our special day!

Wedding wedding wedding…that’s all I feel like we talk about! Ahhh…can’t it just be here already. Just a few weeks away and I am still finding myself meandering up and down all the wedding blogs looking for ideas. Oh yeah like I don’t have enough projects up my sleeve. But this one is the cutest ever…a KID PARADE! Ruffled posted this colorful woodsy wedding…instead of having a traditional flower girl and ring bearer, all the little children just marched up the aisle preceding the bridal procession. So fun!

Oh So Beautiful Paper

I know this is kind of unrelated but my our save the dates are featured on Oh So Beautiful Paper today! I am still working on our invites…hopefully they will be done soon.

Me and my little peanut. Now & then. He’s is growing up so fast!
This past weekend was my second mother’s day and my sister Sarah’s wedding! Hence why little man is in a tux. We had so much fun…Jaxon is quite the dancer. I have some hilarious videos of him head bobbing. What a hoot! My mom and I made the cake…and the groom’s cake too. The wedding was beautiful. I got a little nervous making my toast, but it all turned out. Congrats Mr. + Mrs. Trey Busch! I’m sure they are having a blast on their honeymoon!
Ahhh…Now its time to finish all of our planning. I can’t believe we are getting married in less than three months! I am getting ready to design our invites. See my wedding inspiration here. For mother’s day, Thomas (& Jaxon) got me flowers and a new printer for my office! He also made me a delicious dinner…ribs and corn on the cob! Yum. Sorry I’m a little late…happy mother’s day to all you awesome moms!

Oh my, we have been busy planning our wedding…all the details…I always knew how much preparation went in to a wedding, but it is ten times more when its your own! And I am not the most organized person either. My brain is a bit overloaded with inspiration. I am keeping most of my ideas here, so I remember. Next on the agenda is attire for the little ones. I want my little peanut to wear a tiny bow tie! I found this great tutorial over at papernstitch…a guest post from Jessica of Living the Swell Life. Now I just have to screen-print the fabric and give it a whirl.
