Hours and hours of entertainment. Jax loved it. He took a nap with it. I’d have to say this is the best last minute diy for kids to do for the holidays. Although I waited a little too long to get the goodies to put inside. So we used little army men…good army men.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
glass jars with lids
paint
paintbrush
heavy duty glue dots
teeny tiny figurines
tinsel glitter
water
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Gather your supplies.
2. Paint the lids, let dry.
3. Use glue dot (we use ZOTS) to adhere figurine to the inside of the lid.
4. Add glitter and water, almost to the top of the jar. If you want to get fancy…add a little bit of glycerin to slow down the snowfall.
5. Secure the lid and shake to make snow!
Note: These things aren’t made to last forever, just make sure the lid is tight. You can always use super glue or epoxy to prevent any leaks.
THE CUTEST…little wooden toy camera + hand painted dinosaur birthday invitation by Christine Wisnieski.
Yesterday, I spent most of the day searching Getty for luxury images for a current project. I couldn’t stop staring at this one! Toys boats…agh I just love the colors. Maybe this summer Daddy can make Jaxon one to sail around in the swimming pool. I will have to remember this post from a lovely follower, she just made a little fleet of teeny tiny boats for her son Jack. He also plays with a few neat ones by Willow Baus.
Every time I see a vintage wooden toy, it makes me smile. I just think of all the little sticky hands that must have touched it, all the memories. I always wonder how many times it has been passed down to new generations.
Jaxon has received many vintage toys, they are such treasures. My aunt just gave him a giant metal top, I caught him playing with it this morning! I want to start a tradition. This Christmas I am putting a few wooden toys on his wish list, in hopes that he will play with them and one day give them to his children.
Experimenting with my new Classic Toy camera app this morning. Thanks for the recommendation Fran! She’s a pro at camera apps. I’m still learning.
I have a new thing for vintage toys…Christine Edwards has taken some lovely photographs, available at her etsy shop.
Look at me! I used to be a shirt…handmade by Lizette Greco.
Oh how I love the vintage Fisher Price toys…these are just a few, just bought the turtle with the little red hat for my collection. {via Olivelse}
I’m putting these wooden blocks from Petit Flaneur on the baby’s wish list.
I have always loved these little wooden animals from Enfant Terrible…
the elephant, bear and monkey, a classic trio designed by Rosendahl.
This wooden camera from Twine is too cute…I definitely want to get this for my little one.
