13 months old.
Year number two is off to a fantastic start…aside from the massive poop incident that covered Casen’s face. wall. curtain. mattress. blanket. and seahorse glowworm. I refuse to share the photo…it’s too gross. Anyway everything is all cleaned up and I can’t get enough of my sweet one year old.
At his one year check up he weighed 24 lbs + measured 31 inches long. His little hair is finally starting to grow. Hoping for curls! He is going to get all the ladies with his lips…always sticking them out, giving kisses. It is the cutest. He leans his head over with his mouth open. omg! Stop growing. I mean stop walking everywhere! Case is not afraid of anything. Well maybe my sister’s dog. ‘Daw’ his new word. He loves our dog, George. Giggles and gets so tickled when he walks past and sniffs him. Definitely still ticklish, always has been.
This past month he was a first timer in the ‘car cart’ at the grocery store, enjoyed a few dips in our new kiddie pool in the backyard, went to Grant’s Farm and celebrated cousin Addie’s first birthday!
Just in case you missed it, my little man took his first step yesterday!

Mom, I pee orange!
Two years + nine months…agh! In a few short months (of course, the months that go that fastest because of the holidays) Jaxon will be three! Oh my.
Every time he does something that I haven’t seen or says something new…I get mixed emotions and think to myself, It’s okay. I get to see Case do this. It’s true.
‘Mom, I pee orange!’ This is what he says nearly every time he goes to the bathroom. He likes to sit backwards…well the right way. He sits on the front edge facing the lid. That’s Jax. Still not accident free! Grr. We were for two days, then boom, back to ZERO. The problem is clothes. He was doing so well. If he is running around in his birthday suit or just underwear, he goes. Sometimes even without even telling me. But if I add pants…he has an accident. Potty training is such an emotional wet roller coaster…for me. Some days I don’t think he’s ready. Other days he’s a champ.
In other news…’Whittle Winesteins’ is his favorite show. That, and Jake. He is obsessed with airplanes! I can’t wait to take him on his first trip. No plans yet, but hopefully soon. Still deciding what he will be for Halloween. eek! But super excited to go to the pumpkin patch this weekend!
My kid just decided to pretend his Rody was a diving board…jumped ten feet high and then face planted on the floor. #nbd #toddlers
OMG this kid. ‘Shake it off’…that’s what we tell Jax when he does crazy things that don’t end so well. We were busting last night. By the way, he is fine. Just had to share…maybe get you to laugh. If you don’t already, follow me on twitter…@_lauracoggins and @littlemanjax too!
If you don’t know who Rody is…he’s the hippity hop ride-on horse.
Lots of nots and noises.
Jax. My wild one. He’s yet again, another month older. I thought he was a chatterbox last month, well he is quite the mumbler. Talking multiple sentences so fast, even I sometimes have trouble interpreting. His new favorite word is ‘not’. ‘I not wanna’ ‘Not whittle milk, bid milk mommy’ ‘No not changa my diaper’. Follow him on twitter…it’s a great read when you need a laugh.
He has a little tude sometimes…bossy. Other times he is so funny. He has been learning just about every animal and what sound they make. The newest is a shark, a wolf and a woodpecker. He is so smart…says them and sometimes does little hand motions. When he forgets, he always asks, ‘whats zat says?’ My favorite one is the mouse. No noise, he just sniffs…for cheese. Ha! I taught him that one.
Lately, we have been trying to do more activities, like painting and making things. Pinterest is so helpful for diy ideas. I also like seeing what Made by Joel has up his sleeve. I’ve been wanting to post our fish tank we made…but we still have a few fish to add. Yesterday we made a paper party hat. He’s into hats.
In other news…he is still not potty trained (booo!) and can officially undress himself.
Lately…just reaching for the moon and sittin’ porch. (yes. he eats bread plain.) I just love these two and I am soo gonna miss them when my husband and I take our vacation here next week! Much needed. We have been in such a routine. work. work. work. crossfit. work. eat. work again. We are so ready.
update: As much as I love Casen’s handmade bumper, it has been removed from his crib because he is about to roll over!
oxoxo…I’m pretty sure we have one of the most lovable kids around. Jax gives hugs and ‘tisses’ and ‘I yous’ all the time! So we are sending everyone lots of love this week! Yesterday he turned 25 months. Hard to believe his second birthday was already a month ago. Where does the time go?
Jaxon is growing up so much…doing lots of new things. I have really noticed that he is concentrating much more when he plays. Daddy is teaching him how to play hockey…so fun to watch them. He is obsessed with the yard stick, the plunger, Daddy’s leaf blower and my typewriter. Always wants to go outside…even brings me his shoes to speed up the process. Ha! Loves to climb in and out and on top of anything…our little dare devil. He is also in to running fast.
He is so determined. Has to brush his teeth everyday. Likes to pick out what color shirt he wears. Loves to take baths…umm, probably two times a day. His vocabulary has tripled…says two and three words all the time. The other day he burped at lunch and said ‘scuse you’. Using those manners…even when I don’t remind him! It’s funny he says ‘No please’. See what else he is saying here.
He lets me know when he poops…hopefully we are one step closer to being diaperless. Eating habits are not so great though. He would much rather drink milk for every meal…but we are trying to work in some new foods. I am so glad that he is sleeping in his big boy bed all the time now. No crying either, well except he always wants me to go to sleep too. FYI…toddler beds are super uncomfortable.
ister Jaxon turned 22 months this past Movember 12th. Even though we couldn’t get him to wear a mustache for Halloween this year, he still made a sharp little Monopoly Guy. Trick or treating wasn’t really for him…it was a bit dark and he was cutting a new tooth. Hopefully next year he will be as excited as me.
If you haven’t heard, Jax has a big boy bed now. He enjoys jumping on it nearly everyday. The switch is actually going much better than we ever expected.
It’s just amazing what he picks up. He is now learning his colors…he knows orange, blue and purple. He can point out most animals and what sounds they make. His favorite is the moo cow, of course. And, he can count to ten (with a little help)…at the end he goes ‘…ninne, tennn!’. It’s so cute when he stares at me in the eyes and tries so hard to say whats on his mind. Sometimes he’s a mumbler and other times his words are super clear! Daddy sneezed the other day and Jaxon said, ‘Bless you’. He yelled, ‘Laura, Laura…did you hear him?!’. He had never heard him say it before. It made me smile.
Jaxon can pretty much entertain himself. You can just look at him with a funny face and he will start giggling. A few weeks ago, I caught him pouring out his juice on his high chair tray to blow bubbles…ha! He gets excited over the simplest things, which I am so happy to see everyday. He is such a good kid.
(btw…I am not a fan of mustaches, but my husband has decided to not only grow one, he has a beard too.)
Oh my…our little peanut has outgrown his baby crib. He climbed out two times last week. I went to open his door after a nap and he was opening it too!! I knew the day was going to come. So this weekend Daddy bought him a blue race car bed…he even customized it with his name on the front. It is really cuter than I imagined. This morning was the first time he saw it, he said ‘vroom, vroom!’ and pulled the covers off and was ready to drive it…but he was a little sad when he realized there was no steering wheel.
I took these photos on Friday, not realizing that it would be his last time hanging out jumping in his crib. Oh the memories. I’m just happy that he is taking his first nap in his new bed right now!
