A little sneak peek of the baby’s nursery! This weekend I finished organizing and did a few DIYs…can’t wait to share the whole thing. See the post of my moodboard here.
Thought I would share my moodboard I made for the baby’s nursery. Made a little impulse buy as I was searching for images…it was so perfect for his room, I just had to. Excited for it to show up on my doorstep!
HAPPY FRIDAY! xo

The nursery! Agh…if this baby arrives as early as Jax did, that means I only have 9 weeks to go. Woah. I’ve gotta get this little guy’s home ready! Inspired by the rooms above…I know what color I want to paint the walls and what I want the curtains to look like. But the floor…I hate it! I just want to rip it up and paint the hardwood white! Why don’t I? Well, I’ve asked my husband so many times. No, everytime. It’s pretty damaged, so my solution is to get an awesome rug and I will be happy. I love this citrine stripe rug, but my budget is limited. I will have to try this DIY tutorial…seems pretty easy. So much to do…
Incredible installation at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane. Artist Yayoi Kusama created a brilliantly white environment for an interactive children’s project called The Obliteration Room…where over the course of two weeks children who visited were given colored dot stickers to collaborate in the transformation of the space. Looks like fun! The installation is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.

As I was researching ideas for the baby’s nursery, I came across this modular children’s bed inspired by treehouses by Aalto + Aalto. Even though our little ones will have separate rooms, I still think this room is brilliant for toddlers. I love the color palette, the way the walls are painted and the lovely artwork by Darling Clementine.
Have you seen these new papier-mâché animal heads from Dwell Studio? They make me chuckle because I actually made one in high school…it was a black and white zebra head. Crazy! Wish I had a photo to show you.
Fact: The literal translation of the French term “papier-mâché” is “chewed paper.
This weeks Etsy discovery…Epiphanys Corner, owned by stay at home mom, Krystal from Spokane, WA. I like her hand painted, canvas signs, especially this one above. She also painted one that said ‘No more monkeys jumping on the bed’…ha!
I think Jaxon’s baby nursery might just have to transform soon, from cars and airplanes to a big boys room with spaceships and rockets. I like moons…anything relating to space, if you couldn’t tell by this post, or this post or even Jaxon’s valentines. And this DIY garland by Guusje Wannet of Ontwerpfabriek Appeltaart my friends will have to make an appearance! Guusje is a mom of three and a textile artist that makes lovely paper cuts and screen prints. Her work is outstanding. Give her blog a visit to find out how to make this beauty!
Happy Friday…have a grand weekend

New momma, Jamie from Hank + Lucy has truly made a perfect space for her little guy. It looks so cozy and comfortable. My favorite part about it, is that there is no extravagant theme! Why does it have to? It’s perfect. Every little detail. See more of little Henry’s nursery here.
One thing that everyone kept asking me when I was pregnant…what is your theme for the nursery? Agh…I don’t want one! Well, I guess you could say its transportation, but it’s a modern and vintage mix. Lots of old toys, books and artwork. What is your little ones room like?
These little rooms over at the Lowercase make me smile. 100% natural cotton bedding…a little white duck on the stump…white wood floors…even a top hat! Full of imagination. I will definitely look to Tessa and Michael Bautovich for inspiration when we are ready to make Jaxon’s room a ‘big boy’ room. Read a little more about them here.
You know I feel about alphabet posters…(they are everywhere!)…but this abécédaire by illustrator Audrey Jeanne is pretty high on the awesome chart. I just love the little illustrations and the color palette. You can pick it up over at L’Affiche Moderne.
MINT…the color of the month, well lets just say the color of the season because I’m sure it will be my favorite color for a while. It is so crisp and clean…especially in a little one’s room! I love The Dorm shelves from ferm LIVING (not to mention everything else in the photo). And the Little Dorm is new!
Photographer Yusuke Suzuki has created Child’s Play…a page turning bed that looks like an oversized book. At night it is opened up little children to sleep in and during the day it is shut closed to create enough space for children to play in their room.

I stumbled across the site of a talented Swedish photographer, Anitta Behrendt yesterday. I have to say that I am a little jealous she gets to photograph such amazing spaces…but she does awesome work, especially with color. This bright orange playhouse caught my eye. I’m sure if Jaxon had a playhouse, he too would have a pirate flag…his daddy would love that! Enjoy more of Anitta’s work here, you can find so much inspiration!
Love this baby room in the London home of Laura Aziz…Ikea all over! Shelves, dresser and Ikea curtains too. (I almost ordered those.) She not only has a cute nursery, but a cute little shop too!
