In lieu of Casen turning one, I thought I would put together a gift guide with go-to gifts for a one year old…boy or girl. Roald Dahl stamps! Royal Mail has released a new set of stamps to celebrate the classic children author…he was my fav when I was a kid! The series features Quentin Blake’s famous illustrations of six of Dahl’s most popular children’s stories feature, such as Matilda, Fantastic Mr Fox, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach and more. Must get some for my stamp collection!
Speaking of stamps…I saw Jessica Hische! She gave an incredible and hilarious lecture last night at Sam Fox School of Art & Design at Washington University. Her love stamp was recently released.
Who doesn’t like Stuart Little? These book cover redesigns by Dever Elizabeth Thomas are adorable! Nice work.
COMPOST! is a new children’s book written by Acadia McGee. She was so kind to have sent us a copy to enjoy. Compost! is an easy-to-read book that introduces the process of composting and encourages families to share in caring for our planet. Our favorite part is when the earthworms get dropped in! Photographer Yusuke Suzuki has created Child’s Play…a page turning bed that looks like an oversized book. At night it is opened up little children to sleep in and during the day it is shut closed to create enough space for children to play in their room.

Mister busy body is always getting into something lately. This weekend Jaxon dumped over grandma’s purse in the kitchen! This interactive book from Cox & Cox caught my eye. My Granny’s Purse is great for little girls and boys that like all those interesting gadgets and gizmos they shouldn’t be playing with.
Meet Johanna who is creating a fun keepsake book throughout her pregnancy
as she waits to meet her little Mia to arrive. This is such a great way to document such an amazing experience. I know that when I was pregnant with Jaxon, I wasn’t really into the ‘belly book’ my mom purchased me. It was cute, except now most of the pages are blank.
