MUST HAVE: These letterpressed IOUs! A collaboration between Christine of Ink*Lemonade and Typecase Industries. Every mom, not just new mommas can use a break every once in a while…I could really use the sleep one right about now. With all the new little ones I know arriving this year, I will be placing my order soon! I mean, how can you pass up mint edge printing. These IOUs would make the perfect gift…even for new dads!
Oh and I’m definitely adding Christine’s blog to my list of daily reads! You should too!
Monster letter prints are now available in my shop, LITTLE FRILLS paper + goods!
I am in awe right now…Maricor + Maricar, talented twin sisters, hand embroidered a family set of Sweater Letters. The letter ‘B’ is available in their shop. The letters above were commissioned by ESPN magazine for their regular ‘Go Play’ section. You must visit their site to see all the incredible tactile work!
Look at this! Designer Jason Gomez created this awesome alphabet installation for his new baby girl’s nursery. I love the colors, the pattern and all the different letters. My favorite is the…well I really can’t choose just one, they are all lovely! This makes me want to do a little canvas series for Jax’s room.

Just browsing the Print Magazine’s regional design annual ONLINE! A-mazing. I was looking at design work in the midwest and saw the stuffed animals from the series “Alphabeasties and other Amazing Types” by Werner Design Werks, Inc.
Santa Claus is coming to town! Hand-lettered christmas card by Linzie Hunter, an awesome illustrator. See more here…they are gorgeous!
Just in case you missed them, last week I posted my gift guides for little girls, little boys and babies…please enjoy and I hope you have gotten a few ideas for your little ones!
Golden Rule letterpress poster by Studio on Fire…a father and son collaboration. Hand drawn type and illustration by Koen, age six, with a sharpie marker at the dining room table, then arranged digitally in the studio. ‘Do to others as you would have them do to you’…yes that is the Golden Rule! See the poster in detail here. This poster is a must buy for Jaxon…to cute!
I was gathering ideas for Jaxon for his first Christmas and came across West Elm’s gift ideas. They have so many great ‘young at heart’ ideas, gifts like stamp pads, puppets and endangered species erasers. I like these coloring placemats. I know he is a little young now, but I can always save them for another holiday!
I posted the book a while ago, but I was excited to see these Alphabeasties flash cards this past weekend at my local toy store. They make great wall art. Next time I go, they will be in my cart. Photo via Baby Center.
Just watched the romantic comedy The Back Up Plan…oh yes this was my friday night, baby sleeping, T snoring beside me and George at my feet. The movie is about a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet the man of her dreams on the very same day. It was funny, but even better was the titles! Sorry guys I tried to embed them into this post…they were hard to find, so I went straight to the source. Shine Studio creative director, Michael Riley was the master of this sequence. Ryan Miziker did the calligraphy. And if you are a dork like me, you will want to see the storyboards. In college I did a stop motion sequence for the movie Blow Up…ever since then I always have my eye out for engaging titles.
Check out this Neighbourhood of playful typographic illustrations by Bruce Mackay. How fun! Seeing this inspires me to want to create all kinds of fun illustrations. I think I like the ‘U’ the most. Click the link to see them up close!
Helvetica t-shirt from American Apparel…I want to get the ‘J’ t-shirt for Jaxon.
