Just had to share this adorable nursery with you. Mom, Katie is a photographer (she took our family photos) and dad is a designer, so you know they’d put together something amazing for their firstborn. Baby Fox is the cutest! Read what they say about the space…
When we moved into our house about a year and a half ago, we originally envisioned the second bedroom as a guest room. Unfortunately it became a space that we started using for additional storage for things we weren’t sure what to do with. The previous owner had painted the ceiling a very dark navy blue and I couldn’t stand it so we ended up just keeping the door closed pretty much all the time. When we found out we were having a baby we finally had a reason to clear it out do something with it. The ceiling was such a pain to paint over, but when it was done it looked so much better!
We decided on a vintage boy scouting/exploring theme for the room and created a moodboard to go off of. We didn’t want to go overboard with vintage pieces (plus we wanted a safe and structurally sound crib), so we decided to get our main pieces of furniture in white to keep the room feeling fresh, while filling it in with vintage details.
Our favorite part of the room is the globe mobile. When it arrived in the mail we were surprised at the size of it (pictured it to be MUCH smaller) and was nervous that it was too big. But now we love it and Fox does too! He just lays in his crib and smiles up at it. We are proud of the room and look forward to the potential it holds for Fox as he grows!
GULLIVER crib, POANG rocker, EXPEDIT shelving unit, LACK floating shelves from IKEA / bookshelf from Target / dresser is vintage find from TFA / triangle curtains, rug, floor lamp from Urban Outfitters / brass monogram tree letters from Anthropologie / globe mobile from Fab, also available at Rosenberry Rooms

We’ve added a few new picture books to our library. Jax loves the Chomp book. I’m pretty partial to the illustrations by Sara Gillingham in Now I Am Big book.
Keenan Cummings’ poster for Print Aid NYC is just stunning! All the posters are designed by NYC based designers, and 100% of the proceeds go to recovery efforts for Hurricane Sandy. Pick one up here.

Illustrator Oscar Bolton Green made this incredible type animation a few years ago. Can’t believe I haven’t seen it until now. But it’s actually coming in handy because Jax has been trying to learn the alphabet. He loves it!

FALL is H E R E…and it is gorgeous outside, maybe even a little too nice! Since the everyone was sick, (but me) this weekend we weren’t able to go to the pumpkin patch, but the boys and I went today! We also packed a lunch and ate it at the park. It was a blast…photos to come!
I love this little illustration by Oliver Jeffers for Anthro Magazine.

Matte Stephens is a super talented artist from Portland. I can’t believe I am just now discovering his work. The geometric shapes, the colors, cameras, arrows…it’s so pleasant and humorous all at the same time. I just love it. I’m thinking about ordering a print from his shop…could quite possibly be my inspiration piece for the baby’s nursery.
