my son just said ‘wets get some cwothes on and show da gurls my new transformer…dey won’t even nechornize it! dey won’t.’ #threenager #kids #proudmomma
Ah! Biggest word yet…recognize! Jax is getting so smart. Proud momma for sure over here. I know that he is going to learn so much more in preschool but I just get this indescribable feeling when he says something new! Just had to share his from today. If you don’t already, follow him on twitter @littlemanjax…and me @_lauracoggins too!
So I missed an update. I mean, it’s summer…everyone is busy. It is so amazing how much can happen in two months. My little Casen Blake isn’t so little anymore. Outgrowing clothes like crazy…visit @jaxandcase on instagram for some gently used hand-me-downs! Aside from being down in molar city these past months, his hair is actually growing…on top, still the wiggliest ever and eats pretty much anything you put in front of him. He will even blow on it if it’s hot…um the cutest!
He’s a daddy’s boy for sure. Always cuddling just with him. Otherwise he’s on the run. So fast. And if you can’t find him, chances are he is in the bathroom trying to touch the toilet water (ew…I know, I freak every time) or playing with my makeup brush. He has learned how to climb on the baby gate and pull up and hang on the oven handle…eek! Hoping he waits a bit to climb out of his crib. Although I can’t wait to get rid of it because his chunky little legs are constantly getting stuck! Then we have waterworks. Lately he is so sensitive, especially if you take his toy (JAX!)
This past month, we went on our first family vacation to the beach (photos + blog post to come), MawMaw came to visit a few times and we took tons of bike rides and dips in the baby pool.
A few Sundays ago we threw my younger sister, Sarah a geometric baby shower. She’s an interior designer major, obsessed with triangles…the baby’s nursery theme. It was so much fun to plan. I was inspired by a white geometric bowl I found at Target. I designed her invitations to look like it using a blind deboss technique. (They will be available in my shop soon!) I was thrilled with the result, so I designed the rest of the signage to match.
We kept it simple with a few appetizers, fruits and veggies. The cake is a tradition that my family makes for anyone expecting…dress, hat + booties. My mom bakes it. I decorate it. We even glazed some triangle sugar cookies for favors.
Measuring the baby bump is a must at a baby shower. But instead of playing games, of course we did a DIY. Sarah wanted some artwork for baby Avery’s nursery. So all the guests taped off + painted a tiny canvas with the nursery color palette. Everyone loved it! She is going to cluster them all together and display them above the crib. Even my nieces London and Addie made one!
I can’t wait to meet my new niece…she was definitely spoiled with tons shoes + clothes!
