just noticed my son shook our unity sand jar. #eek #parenting #motherhood #wahm

Oh goodness! Guess he thought we needed a good shake. He thinks that it is bird seed. Ha! I couldn’t help but laugh. Happy Monday friends. If you don’t already, follow me on twitter…@_lauracoggins and @littlemanjax too! He says the most random things.

not whittle bitty tiny…BIG!

Everything is BIG in Jaxon’s world. Even him…he has already been three for a month! You always hear about the terrible twos, but I think that three is going to be um, lets just say worse, a challenge, hard, interesting. Let’s be positive, right?!

We went to the doc for his checkup yesterday. He was all over the place. He’s a wild man! The only way he can be still for a minute is if he was looking in the mirror or hanging up side down. He was good though, no super huge screaming fits. (Hate those with a passion). He is 3 feet 1 inch tall and weights 33 pounds. Threes across the board.

He just discovered his shadow. Likes to run around naked and go to the gym. Let’s pretend those things happened at once, oh wait they did. eek! Needless to say we are teaching him about his private parts and being in public. He love to sing and make up songs when his is helping clean or riding in the car. Into transformers and puppets. He is starting to like food. Still obsessed with milk. Not whittle bitty tiny…BIG milk.

This kid. He brightens my day and pushes all my buttons.

FRIDAY FAVE! Jax strumming his new little guitar. He makes my heart sing. If you are on Vine, you can see a live clip of his version of twinkle twinkle.

Had share Vivienne’s little nursery with you. I just love how clean and simple it is. Mom, Cory of Blowing Raspberries loves to decorate…read what she says about the space…

My inspiration for Vivienne’s Nursery was the Themis Mobile by Artecnica. I loved the geometric shapes with its bold hues. From that one item, I was able to turn a clean canvas into an array of colors. I’ve always been drawn to modern design with its minimalist view on decor. I thought it was best to keep the walls white and let the bedding, prints, and etc. splash the room with punchy tones. This way Vivienne can grow into her space, not outgrow it. Also, since our family lives with my in-laws, we three share the same space. So I needed to keep the room adult and child friendly.

Overall, I’m thrilled with how Vivienne’s Nursery came together. I’ve realized that choosing a modern approach to decorating has made the room so versatile. And because our family’s living situation is temporary, I know when we move, her room will adjust easily to the change.  That’s why modern style will always be my favorite. It’s constantly evolving which is ideal for our family’s on the go lifestyle.

So excited to share the boys’ valentines with you! I usually design Jaxon’s, but I know how much he likes to help…and to paint. So we made them together. We used glow-in-the-dark paint and some of our foam stamps we made this week. Can’t wait to see him hand them out. Next year maybe Casen can help.

Happy Valentines Day! xoxo

THE CUTEST VALENTINE’S DAY EDITION: Hello Apparel heart baseball shirt + printable pirate valentines by Mer Mag.

MUST HAVE: These letterpressed IOUs! A collaboration between Christine of Ink*Lemonade and Typecase Industries. Every mom, not just new mommas can use a break every once in a while…I could really use the sleep one right about now. With all the new little ones I know arriving this year, I will be placing my order soon! I mean, how can you pass up mint edge printing. These IOUs would make the perfect gift…even for new dads!

Oh and I’m definitely adding Christine’s blog to my list of daily reads! You should too!

Just added You Are My Wild to my daily reads. It is a weekly portrait project that brings together 14 photographers to document how they see their children. I love when talented people collaborate. It’s such a beautiful thing.

Anje Bridge / Becky Zeller / Brooke Schwab / Dera Frances / Isabel Furie / Jessica Kraus / Kati Dimoff / Kelsey Gerhard / Klodjana Dervishi / Meaghan Curry / Rebecca Conway / Ryan Marshall / Tara Whitney / Shelby Brakken

MUST HAVE: These wooden teaching letters from Present & Correct. Um…awesome! They were designed to teach children the motions for writing letters. They are available in upper and lowercase. My mind is spinning, of course I want these, but I wonder If I could make a set.

This reminds me…we are touring our first preschool for Jax this afternoon!

9 months old.

Geez. I feel like I just wrote Case’s update, but it’s that time again because he is 9 months old today! This past month has been great, despite a few visits to the doc, he is happy and healthy 19.9 lb baby.

My brave little one has been trying to let go once he pulls up next to the couch. Getting closer and closer to walking. (It’s really okay, I can wait for that to happen.) We’ve been trying to teach him to wave…almost, but not quite yet. Still ticklish as ever…his giggles are too much to handle. And when he smiles you can see his teeny tiny pearly whites. He got three new teeth this past month! Which is good because he loves food. Pretty much out of that soupy baby food and into the good stuff. He loves everything except broccoli. He is such a good little sleeper too, he slept twelve hours, two nights in a row. Any parents dream! Maybe he can teach Eating + Sleeping 101 to his big brother Jax. Ha!

just told my son not to jump in his brother’s crib…he responded, ‘Can I dance in his bed?’ #motherhood #parenting #wahm

I couldn’t help but laugh. I mean, sure. How can you say no? Hope your Monday is going well! If you don’t already, follow me on twitter…@_lauracoggins and @littlemanjax too!
