Jax is another month older. Yep. And I can tell too. He is a chatterbox. The other day I caught him having a conversation over lunch with his Corduroy bear. ‘What doing? You kying?…why?’ Hilarious.
He is obsessed with boo boos. Always talking about them, pointing them out. His little legs have bruises all up and down. Had a bike wreck last week. NBD. Got right back up. He blames every single one on the dog. Poor George, he got beat up by the plastic baseball bat this week. And the bat is now at our local recycling dump…ha!
The newest thing is bugs. He bends down as close as he can, points and says, ‘eeeewwww’. So far he has discovered a spider, a bee and a dragonfly. ‘Where bug go?’. He is such a little explorer. Maw Maw gave him a butterfly net. He is hoping to catch one, but we haven’t seen an yet.
Lately he has been trying to dress himself. I’ll start to put his jammies on and he says ‘I do it’ and pulls his shirt down. He puts our shoes on all the time and walks around the house…even my high heels! One time he walked outside and pranced on the neighbors driveway with my black peep toe heels…little piggies hanging over the edge. Em-barrasing! This kid is a mess. Luckily our neighbors are our friends. Yesterday, my husband asked, ‘Why are my shoes always in a big pile’. I said, ‘You have a two and a half year old…haha..and he loves shoes!’.
Ugh…looks like Jax is still not interested in potty training. But I just had to share this from this morning…thought you might get a little laugh. If you don’t already, follow me on twitter…@_lauracoggins and @littlemanjax too!
Today is sort of a weird day. Casen had is first bottle of just formula. I had been transitioning his feedings, but today, I actually realized that my last time nursing him was last week! It feels good, but also bad at the same time. Maybe bad is not the word.
I know that there are so many opinions about breastfeeding. I know moms that do it, moms that just can’t and moms that wanted nothing to do with it. I only stopped because my husband and I are going on vacation to Mexico at the end of the month. I know, it seems silly and a bit selfish, but I didn’t want to have to worry about pumping every 3 hours. If we weren’t going I know I probably would have nursed him much longer.
We are not planning on having anymore children, so it is just weird knowing that I won’t get to experience nursing my baby again. Seems like I’m always posting about ‘firsts’…never thought I would be posting about ‘lasts’.
- Watching my friends little girl, Eddi. She is six.
- Eddi: Do you know why they call it a ponytail?
- Me: Why?
- Eddi: Because it looks just like a pony's tail.
